Really, your wedding day is the opportunity to throw an amazing party and is the opportunity to make your big day a true reflection of you and your partner’s personal style.

For some, figuring out the style of their wedding can be really tricky, especially when trying to picture how a certain colour, theme or décor style might look. Even those who are able to visualise how they want their dream day to look do still tend to struggle due to having too much inspiration that they love and finding it hard to refine down their ideas.

We all know how the world of Pinterest is just amazing when it comes to wedding planning but you can easily end up going down rabbit holes and ending up with a tonne of different looks and styles that you love on your wedding planning board which can be overwhelming.

We are all about going with your gut throughout the planning process. It is so easy to get swept up in trends, fashion or caring too much about what other people might think when really your wedding day is that one day that should truly reflect you and your partners personal style. Your theme should represent your style as a couple, we encourage our couples to try to incorporate elements that you both love.

When helping our couples decide on a wedding style we tend to think simplistic & timeless but of course make it fun!

Top tips when selecting a wedding style or theme:

Think about your venue, what styling will help the beauty of the venue location and scenery shine?

How do you want your wedding day to look when you look back at photos years later?

How do you want your guests to feel at your wedding?

Pick three words that reflect you & your partners relationship and then think about what ideas might come from those words. It might be a colour, a feel, or a particular song.

Think about incorporating your favourite flowers. You might want to tie in some florals or greenery that are sentimental and have meaning to you and your partner.

Once you have plenty of great inspiration create a mood board using just a select few pictures to really help finalise the style and theme. Having a mood board is really helpful when you are contacting vendors such as photographers, florists etc. This means that your vendors will be across exactly how you envision your wedding day without overwhelming them with too many inspiration photos that might be conflicting.

Happy planning
